Emilie and Raul met in early 2020, when Emilie’s partner, Ivan, introduced her to Raul, his friend from the MBA. After numerous dinners, pandemic picnics and chats at the pub, they teamed up to search, buy and run a UK business. (Ivan also took this picture).

Emilie
The daughter of an entrepreneur, Emilie spent her summers as a child in the roles of office assistant, receptionist, and post-office runner for her mum’s business. She grew up as the business grew too, and the importance of culture in a family business was instilled in her from a young age. Inspired by her mother, she went on to start her own business. Profitable within a month of commencing trading, the business now serves high-profile families and household-name companies across the globe.
Emilie holds a First Class Bachelor’s of Science from University College London and is currently finalising her thesis for a Master of Studies in Entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge. When not working or studying, Emilie enjoys volunteering for Young Enterprise, cooking with her partner, and attending art classes.
Raul
Having grown up surrounded by five family businesses, Raul knows what entrepreneurship means and how having ‘skin in the game’ feels. In London and his native Lima (Peru), he has worked in firms seeking to buy and, in some cases, also operate small and medium enterprises (SME). Prior to that, he had client-facing roles advising corporates and private individuals on macro and industry trends, as well as on investment opportunities. Altogether, he brings ample experience in industry research, finance and business valuation.
Raul holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from London Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacifico. In his spare time (and whenever the weather permits), Raul enjoys picnics and drinks in the park with his wife and friends.
